Cookie Policy

What this site stores in your browser, why, and how to remove it. Today the answer is short, and this page says exactly what it is.

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers every way this site stores information on your device or reads information back from it — cookies, local storage, session storage and anything similar — not only files called cookies.

2. What this site stores today

These pages set no cookies at all. Two small preferences are kept in your browser’s local storage, which never leaves your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else:

Your colour theme
Whether you chose light, dark, or to follow your device. Without it the site would forget your choice on every page. Kept until you clear your browser storage.
A dismissed language suggestion
A note that you closed the banner suggesting another language, so it does not reappear on every page. Kept until you clear your browser storage.

Both are strictly necessary to give you the site as you asked for it, so neither requires your consent. You can remove both at any time by clearing site data for this site in your browser settings; the site works perfectly without them and will simply stop remembering those two choices.

3. Visitor statistics

We count visits with Dewiride Analytics, a service we run ourselves at analytics.dewiride.com. It records which pages you visit, the page that sent you here, your screen size, language and time zone, how long you read and how far you scroll, and the wording of the buttons and links you press — never anything you type. Pages whose address carries a one-time code or a payment reference are not counted, and presses inside your account and at checkout are not recorded.

It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It tells one visit from another with a key that changes every day, so your visits on different days cannot be joined together. Your network address is deleted after 72 hours and the visit records after twelve months. We load no advertising or social-media trackers, and nothing here profiles you or follows you between sites.

If we add anything else, this page will describe it — what it is, what it does, who receives it and how long it lasts — before it is switched on.

4. When you sign in

Signing in and buying are not yet open. When they are, they will need a session cookie so that the site can recognise you between pages. It will be strictly necessary, it will hold no more than a session reference, and it will be described here.

5. Video

Where a product has a walkthrough video, this site shows a still image and loads nothing from the video provider until you press play. Until you do, the provider is not contacted and cannot store anything on your device.

6. How to control browser storage

Every major browser lets you see, delete and block what a site stores, usually under privacy or site settings. Blocking storage for this site does not stop you reading it or buying from it, but it will stop the site remembering your theme and your language choice.

7. More about your information

How we handle the personal information you give us is described in the Privacy Policy.
